[melanoma-associated gene 50] The human melanoma gene, MG50, has been identified by subtractive hybridization in a squamous lung carcinoma cell line, LU-1 (Mitchell et al, 2000). MG50 (1496 amino acids) is a melanoma-associated antigen that is not a differentiation antigen or a mutated protein. MG50 mRNA is found in a variety of melanomas and some other carcinomas.
