[milk-derived growth factor-2] This factor is isolated from defatted milk and acid/ethanol extracts of primary human mammary tumors. The factor is identical with TGF-alpha. This factor may be identical with MGF (milk growth factor) isolated also from human milk. Some of the mitogenic activity of milk reported in the literature may be due also to the presence of IGF.
