Milk growth factor has been isolated from bovine milk. Two forms of this factor have been described, MGF-a and MGF-b. MGF-a is identical with TGF-beta-2 (see: TGF-beta) and is the predominant form (85 %). The first 29 amino acids of MGF-b are identical with those of TGF-beta-1. MGF may be identical with MDGF (milk-derived growth factor).
