LycCXCL13

[large yellow croaker CXCL13] This protein (73 amino acids) is the fish counterpart of the mammalian chemokine CXCL13, isolated from large yellow croaker (Pseudosciaena crocea). Amino acid identity with other fish CXCL13-like proteins is between 35-39 % and 24-29 % with mammalian CXCL13.

The LycCXCL13 gene is expressed constitutively in all tissues examined, except for intestines and expression is upregulated after exposure to poly(I:C) or inactivated trivalent bacterial vaccine.

The recombinant protein is chemotactic for peripheral blood leucocytes, suggesting that LycCXCL13 may be involved in inflammatory responses as well as homeostatic processes.
