[leukotactin-1] Lkn-1 is a member of the chemotactic cytokines known as chemokines. It possesses two conserved cysteine residues in addition to the four others conserved in all Beta-Chemokines. The putative mature Lkn-1 is composed of 92 amino acids. The Lkn-1 gene was mapped to human chromosome 17q12. The factor is known also as SCYA15. The approved gene symbol is CCL15. The protein has been identified independently as HCC2, NCC3, MIP-5 [macrophage inflammatory protein-5], MIP-1-delta, HMRP-2B [human MIP-related protein 2B].
