This peptide (Watanabe et al, 1994), termed also Albumin-1 chain b, with the sequence ADCNGACSPFEVPPCRSRDCRCVPIGLFVGFCIHPTG is derived from Soybean Albumin 1. Hanada et al (2003) have referred to the protein as Soybean 4-kDa peptide.

The peptide is thought to be one of the plant peptide hormones as it has the ability, by binding to its receptor to stimulate the carrot callus redifferentiation and proliferation (Yamazaki et al, 2003).
