[long-term repopulating cells] This term refers to subpopulations of very primitive hematopoietic stem cells that are capable of repopulating the compartments of myeloid cells and B-cells and T-cells in irradiated recipients in vivo (see: MRA, marrow repopulating ability) and/or that possess high proliferative potential in vitro (see: HPP-CFC).
