also: Lipopolysaccharide-associated protein 2. abbr. LAP2. This protein has been identified by Triantafilou et al (2001) as one of four proteins that form an activation cluster after bacterial lipopolysaccharide ligation on monocytes and are involved in LPS signal transduction. These proteins are distinct from CD14 and LPS binding protein, which are major receptors for LPS. LAP2 is identical with hsp90.
