[large granular lymphocytes] This term is used in older references to refer to NK-cells. Timonen et al (1979, 1981) have reported that virtually all the cytotoxic activity of human NK-cells is included in this morphologically distinct (but serologically heterogeneous) lymphocyte subpopulation.
