LECT2 (16 kDa) has been isolated from the conditioned medium of PHA-activated human T-cell leukemia SKW 3 cells (Yamagoe et al, 1996). The human LECT2 gene is localized to chromosome 5 (5q31.1-q32), consists of four exons and three introns, and encodes a mature secreted protein of 133 amino acids (Yamagoe et al, 1998). The sequence reveals homology with myb induced myeloid protein-1 (mim-1) expressed in immature and normal granulocytes.
