K237 peptide

This peptide, HTMYYHHYQHHL (His-Thr-Met-Tyr-Tyr-His-His-Tyr-Gln-His-His-Leu), has been identified from a phage display peptide library (Hetian et al, 2002). The peptide binds to the VEGF receptor KDR (VEGFR2) with high affinity and specificity. By interfering with the VEGF - KDR interaction, the peptide inhibits the proliferation of cultured primary human umbilical vein endothelial cells induced by recombinant human VEGF-165.
