The gene is one of a series of putative tyrosine kinases expressed in, and cloned from, the K-562 chronic myelogenous leukemia cell line (Partanen et al, 1990). Sequence analysis shows that JTK10 is identical with one of the Janus kinases, JAK2 [Janus kinase-2]
