INM02

INM02 is a secreted protein identified by Wang et al (2009). The human mRNA transcript encodes a protein of 254 amino acids. INM02 mRNA is expressed widely in rat tissues, especially with abundant quantities in pancreatic islets, testis, and bladder tissue. INM02 is detectable in human serum by ELISA. INM02 mRNA expression and protein secretion is regulated by glucose in Beta-cells (MIN6 insulinoma cells) and intact isolated islets.

Sequence analysis shows that INM02 is identical with HSS1 [Hematopoietic Signal peptide-containing Secreted 1]
