[IL1 receptor-related protein-2] The receptor is a member of the IL1 receptor family. The protein is being referred to also as IL1RL2 [IL1 receptor-like 2, interleukin-1 receptor-like 2] (approved gene symbol) and IL1R6 [Interleukin-1 receptor 6] and is now being referred to as IL36R [interleukin-36 receptor].
Rat and human cDNAs have been isolated. They encode a protein of 561 amino acids with homology to IL1 type 1 and type 2 receptors. IL1Rrp2 is expressed predominantly in the lung and epididymis. The protein itself does not bind to IL1-alpha or IL1-beta
