[interleukin-11 receptor-beta; IL11R-beta] Bilinski et al (1996) and Robb et al (1997) have shown that the mouse genome contains a second gene encoding an IL11 binding protein. This gene is being referred to also as IL11RA2 [IL11R-alpha-2; interleukin-11 receptor-alpha-2] (Robb et al, 1997).
The structure of the IL11R-beta gene is highly similar to that of IL11RA, and IL11RB exhibits 99 % sequence identity with IL11RA at the amino acid level. IL11RB is co-expressed with IL11RB, albeit at lower levels, in embryos and in various adult tissues. IL11RB transcripts are abundant in testis, and, in contrast with IL11RA
