[interleukin-11 receptor-alpha; IL11R-alpha] This is the approved gene symbol for the receptor for IL11. The mouse gene is being referred to also as IL11RA1 [interleukin-11 receptor-alpha-1].
The gene encoding the human IL11 receptor has been cloned by Cherel et al (1995) and Van Leuven et al (1996). Cherel et al (1996) have reported the genomic structure of the gene. An isoform lacking the cytoplasmic domain has been identified also. Human and murine proteins are over 83 % identical.
