ICAM4

(approved gene symbol) [intercellular adhesion molecule 4] ICAM4 is the designation given to the Landsteiner-Wiener blood group antigen (in older references also: Landsteiner-Wiener blood group glycoprotein, Landsteiner-Wiener factor, LW factor) expressed on erythrocytes. This designation is based on strong sequence similarities with the family of intercellular adhesion molecules and on its ability to bind to LFA-1 and Mac-1 (Bailly et al, 1994, 1995).
