[Human chemokine receptor] The cDNA, isolated from a human gene library prepared from neutrophils, encodes a receptor (345 amino acids) for one of the chemokines (Fan et al, 1998). The receptor is related to the receptors for MIP-1-alpha, MCP-3, MCP-5, and MCP-1. The gene has been mapped to chromosome Xq13. Another designation for this receptor is CCRL2 [Chemokine CC Receptor-like-2], and this is the approved gene symbol. The receptor has been referred to also as ACKR5 [atypical chemokine receptor 5], which is also the approved gene symbol.
