ELFT

[ELAM-1 ligand fucosyltransferase] ELFT encodes a 46 kDa protein that has alpha-1,3-fucosyltransferase activity. It is expressed specifically in cell types that bind to ELAM-1 and can confer ELAM-1 binding activity when transfected into nonbinding cell lines (Goelz et al, 1990). The enzyme is the same as FUT-4 [fucosyltransferase 4] and is responsible for the synthesis of the CD15 carbohydrate antigen.
