[embryo-derived histamine releasing factor] This factor with an apparent molecular weight of 136 kDa has been purified from conditioned medium of cultivated preimplantation stage 2-8-cell human embryos. The factor binds IgE and induces the release of histamine and cytokines such as GM-CSF and TNF-alpha in vitro from rat uterine mast cells (Cocchiara et al, 1996).
