[Epidermal growth factor binding protein] This protein, called also EGF-BP B [Epidermal growth factor-binding protein type B], is a member of a family of serine proteases termed Kallikreins, which are structurally related to trypsin. EGFBP is a secreted serine protease expressed in endocrine tissues, including the prostate, testis, breast, and ovary. In the nomenclature of the enzyme catalogue it has been given the designation EC3.4.21.119. It is related closely by sequence and immunological cross-reactivity to Gamma-NGF and a Beta-NGF endopeptidase which specifically removes an N-terminal octapeptide from ... ... ... ...
