CHIAMP
[Chondrocyte-derived inhibitor of angiogenesis and metalloproteinase activity] This anti-tumor angiogenesis factor of 22-24 kDa is found in the conditioned medium of a human chondrosarcoma-derived cell line, HCS-2/8 (chondrocytes).
Human CHIAMP inhibits angiogenesis in the yolk sac of chick embryos and is an inhibitor also of gelatinase. Its 11 aminoterminal amino acids are identical with that of TIMP-2 and is most likely identical with TIMP-2.
