[Cell Death Involved p53-target] This protein has been identified by Brown et al (2007). The gene has been described by Bhalla et al (1999) as C16orf5 [chromosome 16 open reading frame 5]. In databanks the protein is known also as LITAFL [LITAF-like protein; Lipopolysaccharide-induced tumor necrosis factor-alpha-like protein; Lipopolysaccharide-induced TNF-alpha-like protein], and the approved gene symbol is given as CDIP1 [Cell death-inducing p53-target protein 1].
