[CD39-like-4] The human gene encoding this enzyme (529 amino acids) has been cloned by Chadwick and Frischauf (1998).
Paez et al (2001) have shown that the CD39L4 antigen is identical with ENTPD5 [ectonucleoside triphosphate diphosphohydrolase 5] and the oncogene PCPH. Another designation is NTPDase-5 [nucleoside triphosphate diphosphohydrolase 5]. Mulero et al (1999) have shown that the enzyme hydrolyzes nucleoside diphosphates and have reported that CD39L4 is expressed only in macrophages.
The protein is identical with PCPH [proto-oncogene CPH] defined originally as a proto-oncogene
