C10, known also as SCYA6 (small inducible cytokine A6; see also: SCY family of cytokines) is one of several mRNAs that are acutely expressed in myelopoietic mouse bone marrow cultures stimulated by GM-CSF. It is also strongly elevated during the induction of neutrophilic differentiation of 32D cells that are dependent on the presence of IL3 or G-CSF.
C10 is related to MIP-1 (see: MIP, macrophage inflammatory protein). Its protein sequence demonstrates that C10 belongs to the family of chemotactic cytokines known as Chemokines
