BinCARD
[BCL10-interacting protein with CARD] The protein, approved gene symbol C9orf89 [chromosome 9 open reading frame 89], is being referred to also as CARD19 [caspase recruitment domain-containing protein-19].
This protein is expressed ubiquitously. The protein contains a CARD domain that interacts with BCL10. BinCARD potently suppresses activation of NF-kappa-B induced by BCL10 and decreases the amounts of phosphorylated BCL10. Expression of BinCARD inhibits BCL10 phosphorylation induced by T-cell activation signal (Woo et al, 2004).
