[butyrophilin subfamily 3 member A1; Butyrophilin 3A1] This gene (Rhodes et al, 2001), known also as BT3.1 (Compte et al, 2004) or BTF5 [Butyrophilin Family Member 5] (Ruddy et al, 1997), is a member of the butyrophilin gene family. The gene has been cloned by Tazi-Ahnini et al (1997). BTN3A1 is related closely to two other proteins, BTN3A2, and BTN3A3, which exhibit 95 % identity (Compte et al, 2004). BTN3A1 and BTN3A3 possess an intracellular B30.2 domain (see: SPRY domain).
