[B-cell stimulating factor-2] This factor induces the final maturation of B-cells into immunoglobulin-secreting cells and also mediates the generation of cytotoxic T-lymphocytes (see: CDF, cytotoxic differentiation factor; BCDF, B-cell differentiation factor).

The factor, which is secreted also by the human bladder carcinoma cell line T24 (see: T24 BCDF), is identical with IL6.
