BP5

[bursopentin] BP5 is a pentapeptide (CKRVY; Cys-Lys-Arg-Val-Tyr) isolated from the bursa of Fabricius, the central immune organ in birds (Li et al, 2011). BP5 is an immunomodulator that enhances antibody production, induces both of Th1 cell (IL2 and IFN-gamma) and Th2 cell (IL4 and IL10) cytokines, increases proliferation of splenic CD4(+) and CD8(+) T-cells and B-cells, and enhances cytotoxic T-lymphocyte activity.
