BNF-1

[breast tumor novel factor 1] BNF-1 has been identified by Wu and Moses (2002). The gene shows reproducible upregulated expression in vascularized breast tumor in comparison to adjacent normal tissues from the same cancer patient. BNF-1 is expressed predominantly in liver, heart, prostate, testis, and ovary. BNF-1 is over-expressed not only in breast tumors but also in lung and colon tumors. Sequence analysis shows that the encoded protein is identical with CHL2 [chordin-like-2].
