[B-lymphocyte chemoattractant] BLC is a protein of 88 amino acids that belongs to the group of CXC-Chemokines. It is related to GRO-alpha (see: MGSA) and is identical with BCA-1 [B-cell attracting chemokine 1]. Human and murine factors show 64 % amino acid similarity. According to a new systematic nomenclature the name CXCL13 has been proposed for this factor. The gene symbol is SCYB13.
The factor is expressed strongly in the follicles of Peyer's patches, the spleen and lymph nodes. Luther et al (2000) have generated transgenic mice
