ADAMTS10

[a disintegrin and metalloproteinase with thrombospondin motif-10; ADAM metallopeptidase with thrombospondin type 1 motif 10] This protein is a member of the ADAM protein family (see: ADAMTS protein family). Somerville et al (2004), who have identified ADAMTS10, have reported that, in contrast to many other members of the ADAMTS protein family, ADAMTS10 is expressed widely in adult tissues and throughout mouse embryo development. Especially strong expression is seen in developing lung, bone, and craniofacial region of the mouse. ADAMTS10 is a functional metalloprotease as demonstrated by cleavage of alpha2-Macroglobulin, but physiological substrates are presently unknown.
