ACE2

(approved gene symbol) [angiotensin-1 converting enzyme 2; Angiotensin-converting enzyme 2] this enzyme is a homolog of ACE [angiotensin-converting enzyme] and is known also as ACE-related carboxypeptidase 2 or EC3.4.17.23. Tipnis et al (2000) have referred to the protein as ACEH [angiotensin-converting enzyme homolog]. Note that the designation peptidyl-dipeptidase A used in some databanks and publications may be wrong and may refer to ACE rather than ACE2; ACE2 only removes a single C-terminal amino acid and is not a dipeptidase.
