AC133 antigen is an antigenic marker identified originally in hematopoietic stem cells (Miraglia et al, 1997). AC133 is the name of a monoclonal IgG1 antibody identified in a hybridoma generated from mice inoculated with CD34(+) cells enriched from fetal liver, fetal and adult bone marrow, cord blood, peripheral blood. The antibody identifies the CD34(+) population of hematopoietic stem cells from a fetal liver preparation (Yin et al, 1997). AC133 is expressed also in retinoblastoma cell lines and adult retina.
