[chemokine with 6 cysteines] This factor (gene symbol: see: SCYA21) belongs to the group of Beta-Chemokines (CC-Chemokines). In addition to the four cysteine residues characteristic of Beta-Chemokines 6Ckine has two additional carboxyl-terminal cysteine residues. The protein sequence of 6Ckine is highly conserved in humans, mice, and pigs (Hedrick and Zlotnik, 1997). 6Ckine has been described independently as ALP, Ck-beta-9, Exodus-2, SLC [Secondary Lymphoid-Tissue Chemokine], TCA-4 (T-cell activation-4).
