30 kDa adipocyte complement-related protein |
IAP class 1 proteins |

This protein has been found in the hemolymph of silkworm, Bombyx mori. It is a member of a group of structurally related proteins, which accumulate in a stage-dependent fashion in the larval hemolymph of the silkworm, Bombyx mori (Mori et al, 1991; Sakai et al, 1988).
30Kc19 has been shown to be a cell-penetrating protein that efficiently penetrates into various types of cells and localizes at subcellular compartments including mitochondria and cytoplasm (Park JH et al, 2012). 30Kc19 can deliver cargo proteins such as green fluorescence protein into cells in vitro and is active also in vivo. Intraperitoneal injection of 30Kc19-cargo fusion constructs into mice has been shown to deliver cargo proteins into various organ tissues without producing toxicity.
