[3-Fucosyl-N-Acetyllactosamine; 3-Fucosyl-lactosamine; abbr. also: 3-FL] abbr. FAL or 3-FAL. This moiety is recognized by monoclonal antibodies directed against CD15. The two antibodies CMRF-7 and CMRF-27 identify this moiety on some glycolipids and several different granulocyte glycoproteins (Davidson et al, 1988). Tetteroo et al (1992) have shown that 3-alpha-fucosyl-N-acetyl-lactosamine is masked for the detection with antibodies upon monocytic differentiation by sialylation.
