pelteobagrin

This antimicrobial peptide has been isolated from the skin mucus of yellow catfish (Pelteobagrus fulvidraco, Richardson) (Su, 2011). Pelteobagrin is 20 amino acids in length (GKLNLFLSRLEILKLFVGAL) and shows no clear homology with any known bioactive peptides. Pelteobagrin exhibits antibacterial activity against Gram-positive bacteria and Gram-negative bacteria as well as fungi Pelteobagrin displays no hemolytic activity to rabbit red blood cells.
