this term (Galzi JL et al, 2010) has been used for certain compounds that, in analogy to the activity of neutralizing antibodies, neutralise the activity of a chemokine ligand and prevents it from activating its cognate receptor (Veldkamp CT et al, 2010). Neutraligand prodrugs of the CXC-Chemokine CXCL12 have been reported to prevent inflammatory reactions in an asthma model in vivo (Gasparik V et al, 2011; Daubeuf F et al, 2013) and to reduce the excessive numbers of several B-cells and T-cell subsets occurring in the blood of sick MRL/lpr mice with systemic lupus erythematosus (Schall et al, 2021).
