japonicins

Japonicin-1 (FFPIGVFCKIFKTC) and Japonicin-2 (FGLPMLSILPKALCILLKRKC) have been isolated from an extract of the skin of the Japanese brown frog Rana japonica (Isaacson et al, 2002). The two peptides are bacteristatic for Escherichia coli and the Gram-positive bacterium Staphylococcus aureus.

Japonicin-1Npa (FLLFPLMCKIQGKC) and Japonicin-1Npb (FVLPLVMCKILRKC) are antimicrobial peptides isolated from the Xizang plateau frog (Nanorana parkeri) (Lu et al, 2010).
