fgr

The cellular c-fgr gene was known previously as src2. It maps to the short arm of human chromosome 1 (1p36.2-p36.1).

fgr is the cellular homolog of the oncogene v-fgr of the acute transforming retrovirus (GR-FeSV, Gardner-Rasheed feline sarcoma virus) [feline Gardner-Rasheed sarcoma viral oncogene homolog, Gardner-Rasheed feline sarcoma viral oncogene homolog]. fgr encodes a tyrosine-specific protein kinase (59.4 kDa; 529 amino acids) belonging to the family of src-related protein kinases.
