gene symbol: dome (CG14226). Domeless is unique receptor of the JAK-STAT pathway in Drosophila melanogaster (Ghiglione et al, 2002; Brown et al, 2001). The same gene has been identified independently by Chen et al (2002) who named it mom [master of marelle] and as vsp [verstopft] by Josten et al (2003) and Feix et al (2002).
The protein is an ortholog of gp130, the common signal transducer of all four-helix bundle IL6 family cytokines
