Also: beta-casein(60-68). This fragment of bovine beta-casein with the sequence YPFPGPIPN (Tyr-Pro-Phe-Pro-Gly-Pro-Ile-Pro-Asn) has been shown to act as an inhibitor of angiotensin-1 converting enzyme (CD143) and can lower blood pressure in rats (Saito et al, 2000). See also: casokinins for peptides with similar activities. The casein-beta(60-68) peptide is one of the beta-casomorphins and corresponds to beta-casomorphin-8.
