This fragment of bovine beta-casein with the sequence EMPFPK (Glu-Met-Pro-Phe-Pro-Lys) (Pihlanto-Leppälä et al, 1998) has been shown to act as an inhibitor of angiotensin-1 converting enzyme (CD143) and therefore may have hypotensive activity.
