casecidin 17 (YQEPVLGPVRGPFPIIV) and casecidin 15 (YQEPVLGPVRGPFPI) correspond to N-terminal sequences of bovine beta-casein and have been obtained from bovine colostrum (Birkemo et al, 2009). Both peptides have been shown to possess antimicrobial activities and are active against Escherichia coli.
