Also: casein-alpha-s1(157-164). This peptide with the sequence DAYPSGAW (Asp-Ala-Tyr-Pro-Ser-Gly-Ala-Trp) is derived from bovine alpha-s1-casein (approved gene symbol: CSN1S1 [casein-alpha-s1]). It has been shown to act as an inhibitor of angiotensin-1 converting enzyme (CD143) and therefore may have hypotensive activity (Pihlanto-Leppälä et al, 1998).
