ZBED3

[zinc finger BED domain-containing 3] This protein has been identified by Chen T et al (2009). The protein interacts with Axin, a key modulator of the Wnt / beta-catenin pathway, that acts as a scaffold protein in phosphorylating and degrading cytoplasmic beta-catenin. ZBED3 inhibits beta-catenin phosphorylation and cytoplasmic beta-catenin accumulation. Knock-down of ZBED3 expression attenuates beta-catenin accumulation and Wnt target gene expression.
