This cancer-targeting peptide has been identified by phage display library screening (Ma et al, 2013). The peptide targets ovarian cancer cells with high efficiency and cell specificity (SKOV3 cells). In xenotransplanted tumors the peptide accumulates in the tumor sites after intravenous injection and is located in tumor cells and tumor blood vessels. The peptide also acts as a cell-penetrating peptide and is internalized by both tumor cells and angiogenic endothelial cells within the tumor.
