Temporins constitute a family of peptides with a length of 10-13 amino acids isolated originally from the skin secretion of the European red frog Rana temporaria (Simmaco et al, 1996). Peptides belonging to the Temporin family have been isolated also from the closely related North American frogs, Rana luteiventris (spotted frog), Rana berlandieri (Rio Grande leopard frog) and Rana pipiens (Northern leopard frog) (Goraya et al, 2000), the pickerel frog, Rana palustris (Basir et al, 2000), Rana esculenta (Ali et al, 2003), foothill yellow-legged frog Rana boylii (Conlon et al, 2003), mink frog (Rana septentrionalis) (Bevier et al, 2004), Tsushima brown frog
