[SLAM family 2001] This protein is expressed in immune cells and has been identified by Fraser et al (2002). It only contains a short cytoplasmic tail and does not utilize SAP [Signaling lymphocytic activation molecule-associated protein] as an adaptor protein. Sequence analysis shows that SF2001 is the same as SLAMF9 [SLAM family member 9]. The protein has been described independently as CD84-H1 [CD84 homolog 1] and CD2F-10 [CD2 family member 10].
